Samba Share is an Add-on you can install on Home Assistant to upload and download files like any other Windows share

We cover how to install Samba Share and how to make this more secure

We also test connectivity from Linux and Windows 10 to Samba Share to make sure that the authentication and allow hosts options work

As part of this testing we show why access from Windows 10 may not be working and how to fix this

NOTE: Installing and running this add-on exposes the configuration files of Home Assistant so it’s not recommended to use this to turn Home Assistant into a file server for storing files
