ESC JSON Form React
ESC JSON Form React: A Drop-In Form Editor for Any JSON Shape
ESC JSON Form React is the React and Next.js renderer built on top of esc-json-form-core. Instead of hand-building a form for every JSON schema your application needs to edit, you pass a JSON value -- and an optional schema -- and get back a fully interactive, typed form editor with nested object and array sections generated automatically.
The component handles type switching, deeply nested structures, and rich text fields out of the box, and integrates with esc-editor for WYSIWYG text editing inside form fields where needed.
Why ESC JSON Form React Stands Out
- Schema-driven rendering -- pass a JSON value and optional schema; the tree structure from esc-json-form-core drives the form layout automatically.
- Type switching -- change a field's type inline (string, number, object, array) without losing the rest of the form's state.
- Nested sections -- object and array fields render as collapsible, navigable sections at any depth.
- Rich text integration -- pairs with esc-editor for WYSIWYG editing of long-form text fields inside the form.
- Built-in validation -- surfaces validation errors from the underlying esc-json-form-core store directly in the UI.
- Works in any React 18+ or Next.js project -- a controlled component with a simple, typed API.
ESC JSON Form React is free, open source, and published to npm as esc-json-form-react. It depends on esc-json-form-core for its state engine and esc-editor for rich text fields.
