Shareable tool results, live rank badges, and usage guides on all 67 tools

August 5, 2026

Everything in this release came out of one question: when someone finds a TechLogHub tool useful, what stops them from sharing it? The answer was mostly friction — results lived in a tab that couldn't be sent to anyone, tool pages had no text explaining what the tool actually did, and listed products had no way to show their standing anywhere but here. This release fixes all three.

Notes

FEATURES Shareable tool permalinks — 55 tools Every text-based tool now has a "Copy link to this result" button. Tool state is encoded into the URL fragment (#s= + base64url JSON), which means the input never reaches the server — a colleague opening your link gets your exact regex pattern and test string, or your cURL command mid-conversion, without any of it being logged anywhere. Deliberately excluded: the JWT decoder (tokens don't belong in shareable URLs) and the file/image tools, where a URL fragment can't hold an uploaded image. Usage guides on all 67 tools Search Console showed tool pages getting close to zero tool-intent queries — the pages had a working tool and almost no text explaining it. Every tool page now carries a guide covering what it does, when you'd reach for it, and worked examples. SEO and schema generators were done first since those match the clearest commercial search intent. Live leaderboard rank badges Products listed on TechLogHub can now embed a badge that renders their current leaderboard rank as an SVG, updated live and served cached. Available in dark, light, and neutral themes, with copy-paste HTML and Markdown snippets on the /badge page and in each product's dashboard under "Badges & Embeds". Embedded rank badges pass the existing badge verification check. Lifecycle email is live The five-email welcome sequence and the weekly digest both existed in the codebase but were never actually being triggered. There's now a scheduler in the automation service — new subscribers get the welcome drip, and the weekly digest goes out on schedule. Glossary expanded to 150 terms Up from 51. The 99 new entries cover backend, DevOps, database, security, frontend, web development, architecture, and general AI terminology. BUG FIXES Public asset copy nesting in the deploy config (medium) — a nixpacks configuration bug was nesting copied public assets one directory too deep in the built image, silently 404ing most static assets in production. Badge route was dead code (low) — the /api/badge/[slug] route existed but nothing rendered it. It now backs the live rank badge instead of sitting unused. BREAKING CHANGES None.
