About Harness by Autonomous
What is Harness?
Harness is Autonomous' open-source (MIT) command center for coding agents. Run Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and other agents side by side, across all your machines, from one native app.
Key features
- Every agent in its own real tmux terminal; Harness reads transcripts and vendor hooks instead of wrapping CLIs
- Link machines with a password: no SSH keys, Tailscale or open ports
- End-to-end encrypted remote terminals over WebRTC or a ciphertext-only relay
- A git worktree per harness, keyboard-first navigation, remappable keys
- Local models via Ollama, MLX-LM and vLLM
- Domain harnesses for CAD, circuits, robotics, games and music
Pricing
The app is free and open source (macOS 12+, Ubuntu 22.04+). Optional hardware: Harness Device $149, Harness Pro $299.
Value & Audience
Value Proposition
Lets developers who run several coding agents on several machines supervise all of them from one keyboard-driven workspace, without SSH plumbing and with end-to-end encrypted sessions.
Problem Solved
Running Claude Code, Codex and other agents across a laptop, a server and a GPU box means juggling terminals, SSH sessions and tunnels. Harness puts every agent session on every machine into one place and links machines without opening ports.
