HTML Minifier for Comments and Inter-Tag Whitespace
Minify HTML by removing whitespace and comments
What is an HTML minifier?
An HTML minifier strips comments and collapses the whitespace between tags that browsers ignore anyway — indentation, blank lines, and extra spaces left over from hand-formatting or template rendering. HTML is usually the first byte the browser parses, so trimming it shortens time to first paint, and it also removes authoring comments that sometimes contain internal notes you don't want visible in view-source.
The transform runs entirely client-side using text-based rules — no server round trip, so markup containing sensitive strings (draft content, internal URLs) never leaves your browser.
When to use it
Reach for this when you're hand-writing a static page, an email template, or a widget snippet that gets embedded elsewhere, and want to cut its footprint before shipping. It's also useful for stripping the often-verbose comments left by WYSIWYG editors and page builders, or for a quick before/after size comparison when deciding whether minification is worth the readability trade-off.
If your site is built with a framework (Next.js, Astro, a static site generator), production HTML is typically already minified at build time — use this tool for standalone files and snippets rather than as a substitute for that pipeline.
Example
Input:
<div class="container"> <!-- Main content --> <h1>Hello World</h1> <p>Some text here</p> </div>
Output: <div class="container"><h1>Hello World</h1><p>Some text here</p></div> — the comment and all inter-tag whitespace are gone, with the visible content and its rendered layout unchanged.

Frequently asked questions
Is my HTML uploaded anywhere?
No. Minification happens entirely in your browser — nothing you paste is sent to a server or stored.
Will this affect how my page looks?
No — whitespace between block-level tags is not rendered by browsers, so removing it doesn't change layout. Be cautious, though, with markup where whitespace is meaningful, such as inline elements inside a sentence (e.g. <span>a</span> <span>b</span>) — collapsing that space could visually join the words.
Does this minify inline <style> or <script> content?
No — this tool only touches HTML structure and whitespace between tags. For CSS or JavaScript embedded in <style>/<script> blocks, run that content separately through the CSS Minifier or JS Minifier.
Is there a size limit?
Only your browser's memory — processing is local, so even large HTML files minify quickly without a network round trip.
