Render
Render is a San Francisco cloud platform for deploying web services, workers, cron jobs, static sites, Postgres and Key Value stores from a Git repo, and now Render Sandboxes: isolated Firecracker microVMs that give every AI agent its own computer, filesystem and snapshots.
About Render
What is Render?
A cloud platform for deploying and scaling apps, APIs, workers, databases and AI agents from a Git repo, with networking, TLS, previews, autoscaling and monitoring handled for you. New: Render Sandboxes (public beta), an isolated computer for every agent.
Render Sandboxes
- Each sandbox is its own Firecracker microVM: Docker and Docker Compose inside, persistent processes
- TypeScript and Python SDKs and CLI: create, upload, exec with streamed output, download, terminate
- Snapshots and forking (running processes included), custom images, sub-second starts
- Auto-suspend when idle; pay only for active CPU ($0.12/active CPU hour + memory)
- Scoped API keys, outbound domain allowlists, credential brokering (early access)
- Up to 8 CPU / 16 GB, 40 GB disk, 1,000 concurrent per group; guides for Claude Managed Agents, Cursor Cloud Agents, OpenAI Agents API
Platform
Web and private services, background workers, cron jobs, free static sites, Postgres, Key Value, persistent disks, Workflows, preview environments, Blueprints/Terraform, autoscaling, private networking, HIPAA workspaces, MCP server.
Pricing
Hobby $0, Pro $25/mo, Scale $499/mo, Enterprise custom, each plus compute.

Value & Audience
Value Proposition
One platform to deploy every part of an app or agent backend from Git, now including isolated, snapshot-able microVM sandboxes that only bill for active CPU.
Problem Solved
Running apps on hyperscalers takes heavy ops work, and AI agents need safe, persistent, isolated machines to run untrusted code that are costly to build and keep idle.
