About Exa
What Exa is
Exa Labs builds a web search engine for AI systems. Agents, chatbots, coding assistants and data pipelines call its APIs and get back ranked results, page text, token-efficient highlights, structured fields or cited answers.
Products
- Search API: Lite (~450 ms), Auto (~1 s) and Deep (~10 s) search, with news, company, research, people and financial categories.
- Contents API: full page text, highlights and summaries with live-crawl controls.
- Agent API and Websets: asynchronous deep research and list-building with structured, cited outputs.
- Monitors API (v2): scheduled searches that remember what was already sent and deliver only new, relevant results to your webhook as a summary or JSON, now $2 per 1,000 runs (down from $15).
- Exa Connect, MCP server, Claude connector, ChatGPT plugin and 50+ integrations.

Value & Audience
Value Proposition
One API for fresh, token-efficient web data that agents can search, read and monitor, instead of scraping or reusing search engines built for humans.
Problem Solved
AI agents need current information beyond their training data, but human search engines return ad-driven link pages, waste tokens and offer no way to watch the web for changes without repeated, costly polling.
